"He doesn't want to do it, but that's why it's got to be him. I know he's electable because he won once. He already won the popular vote. He's already won. I mean really, who voted for Gore last time who thinks, well, now I really should have voted for Bush? No one! Who voted for Bush who would love to makeup for his mistake? A lot of people!"
Cenk Uyger, The Young Turks, "Perfect Presidents or Perfect Politicians?" Panel hosted by Progressive Radio KPTK AM 1090, Seattle, July 14, 2007
I lie awake at night imagining the awesomeness of a Gore/Obama ticket - a team that I believe would ensure that the Democratic Party would safely hold the White House for the next 16 years, and I know that it will take 16 years plus many, many more to undo the horrific damage that the Bush/Cheney administration has done to this country, this world, and this planet. Hell, I'd get excited about a Gore/Richardson ticket or even a Gore/Edwards ticket (although the Edwards I favor is Elizabeth more than John).
Oh, Mr. Gore, now that you've let the world know that it is indeed heating up and we are the reason for the rising temperatures, and therefore we must do something to stop this impending cataclysmic climate change, won't you please turn your passion to a country that needs you so very badly? We need your leadership, your honesty, your basic decency. We need you like a broken, sick man needs a competent and caring physician. Please Al, please! Run Al, run!
