President Clinton's new book Giving hits the bookstores this week. I think that the idea behind the book is brilliant (as is the author, himself). It is a collection of stories of ordinary Americans who have made a difference in this world by undertaking volunteer work, serving others, founding much needed organizations (like INDN's List) that at their most basic level increase the quality of life of other people in this country and in the world. Inviting readers to submit more stories on the Giving web site is not only a fantastic marketing ploy, but also is a brilliant way to increase awareness about what our fellow citizens are busy doing to make this world a better place.
I submitted a piece on a personal hero of mine - Kalyn Free - founder and president of INDN's List and the brains, inspiration and energy behind Prez on the Rez. It can be found at the following link - Kalyn Free - True American Hero. Please check it out and consider submitting a story of your own efforts to make a difference in the world, or a story of someone who has inspired you to help out. Thanks for fighting the good fight and keeping the faith that this world can be a better place for ALL of us!
